Why it’s a perfect family friendly beach:
A protected cove formed by natural lava reefs, keeping currents mild and water shallow — safe for toddlers and swimmers of all levels
Soft white sand and minimal surf make it ideal for splashing, waddling, and float time
Tip: Bring your shade umbrella's and sunscreen! There are some trees, but you'll be happy you have extra shade here.

Keiki Ponds Beach, Kona
What makes it unique:
It feels hidden — access crosses behind local homes and field paths, giving visitors a low-key, local beach vibe
Natural tide pools carved into lava rock — perfect for spotting reef fish and small sea creatures
Location & logistics:
Located in Kailua‑Kona, just north of town. Public access starts at the fields by Kekuaokalani Gym, then walk through a sandy path between houses
Parking is free near the gym and there are public restrooms available
